New Development in San Bruno & Millbrae
August 3, 2026 · Newsletter archive
Hello San Bruno Neighbors!
San Bruno continues to see meaningful investment and growth throughout the city. Construction is well underway on The View at San Bruno, a large affordable housing project that will bring 341 new homes to the market over the next few years. At the same time, YouTube’s campus expansion near Bayhill Drive continues to move forward, while the new Cardinale Hyundai and Genesis dealership near I-380 is nearing completion. New residential communities like Highland Ridge are also adding much needed housing options and giving buyers more opportunities in the area.
Just south of San Bruno, Millbrae has several notable projects in the pipeline as well. One of the most visible is One Meadow Glen, the mixed-use development taking shape on the former Office Depot site downtown. When completed, the project will add 278 housing units, including affordable housing, along with approximately 17,000 square feet of retail space that should bring additional energy and activity to the downtown district.
Another major proposal is the Serra Station development near the Millbrae BART station, which would add new housing and mixed-use space within walking distance of transit. Residents may also have noticed plans for a seven-story residential building behind Millbrae Pancake House at Broadway and Ludeman Lane. The proposal includes 97 homes, a significant affordable housing component, and a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom units designed to serve a variety of household needs. Together, these projects highlight the continued growth taking place across both San Bruno and Millbrae. As new housing, businesses, and infrastructure come online, the long-term outlook for the Peninsula remains strong, benefiting residents, local businesses, and property owners alike.
